Hi Scott, the laptop is still in the shop. But they told me this morning that there was nothing that they could do to save my files. My most important file is my Firefox bookmarks, the one that I was least worried about as I was using Foxmarks to sync them. But when I checked the bookmarks on the server, they hadn’t updated for 2 months … and I wasn’t aware that Foxmarks had been failing for some reason.

Anyway, when I get my laptop back, I am going to try the Knoppix. I burned the CD and am ready to go. Keep your fingers crossed for me. And thanks for the goodies!

    Frank
