But they told me this morning that there was nothing that they could do to save my files. My most important file is my Firefox bookmarks, the one that I was least worried about as I was using Foxmarks to sync them. But when I checked the bookmarks on the server, they hadn't updated for 2 months ... and I wasn't aware that Foxmarks had been failing for some reason. Anyway, when I get my laptop back, I am going to try the Knoppix. I burned the CD and am ready to go. Keep your fingers crossed for me. And thanks for the goodies!
