Ok, people have asked me how I have changed the look and feel of my Windows XP to that of a trendy, stylish Mac. Ok, I’ll share my little secret with just you! It is a program called ObjectDock that you can download for free at http://stardock.com. And, yes, it is really cool. Runs smooth and flashy. I love it.
The floating menu bar magically appears when you hover a second near whichever edge you dock it to. I like the top. You can add programs as you like, change the size of icons, even how much they zoom when selected. Deleting buttons is fun too, just drag to your desktop and they visually explode. Gone!
I only use the XP taskbar to shutdown now .. although you can add a shutdown button to the ObjectDock as well (at the site you can download additional “docklets” that you copy into the program’s docklet folder). Give it a whirl, I think you’ll fall in love with it! It makes using my PC a little more fun and stimulating. And, that makes me happy!

I had to leave you a comment and ask why are you still with Microsoft when you could get yourself a real Mac?! I shifted to them last year and wouldn’t go back.

@J Good question! One that I have been asking myself of late. In the past, I had so much software invested in Windows, that I had to keep buying a PC. But, now that so much is open source these days, and many apps are now entirely web-based that issue as evaporated.
It is kind of a joke here in the office; as now my display looks like a Mac, and a coworker gave me an Apple logo to stick on my PC cover to fool (at least confuse) onlookers. But, you might be on to something. Maybe I am the one that is fooled and confused … and am just acting out?
Believe me, I’d love to have a Mac notebook and a iPhone or iPod Touch. Being that I live and work in Mexico … well funds are kinda in short supply here. Here, you work for the love of it and the experience, not the money. So if the generous edublogging community wants to pool together and upgrade me to all things Apple … who I am to get in the way of that? Hahahaha!
I noticed that the StarDock boys passed by to take a gander at my Site …. perhaps they’ll give me a free upgrade for being such a wonderful supporter of their nifty product.
I am very visual and spatially oriented … so this really blows my skirt up, ya know what I mean?
