I am new to this world of networked technology...Although I play around with the internet at home, I do very little with it otherwise...I started taking online courses thru my school districts Instructional Technology department this summer. I am not afraid of technology; however, I just don't totally understand how it all works and what you need on your computer to do it, and what all the terminology means...I am going to continue to learn more about technology so that I can become comfortable enough to better enhance my students learning using it myself as well as letting them use it also...My problem is this type of learning isn't going to come overnight for me...So I will have to take very little baby steps to begin with until I become more comfortable with applying what I have learned into the classroom...My goal is to use one form of technology this year, and continue to build on it in the coming years...

Hi Frank,

Just saw your intro post on IATEFL forum (back to see more the vids) - I run a NING community of Bloggers in ELT. It's a private community of teachers who are also blogging. If you'd like to join us (we're about 25 globally) don't hesitate to email me so I can send you an invitation.

Take care,
Karenne

I really love what you are doing on your blog. It is very insightful and I love how you are integrating the use of technology tools. I am a 5th grade English teacher and I am always looking for innovative ways to teach grammar using my blog and wiki. I have found some great ideas here. Thanks!

I saw your digram on this huge list of 'PLE' diagrams: http://edtechpost.wikispaces.com/PLE+Diagrams#cann

Some of them were so overwhelming that yours stood out to me as simple, succint, and completely accurate. Great interpretation!

This graphic is great; I'm new to twitter, trying to grow my PLN most via RSS feeds, definitely a lurker at this point; it is intimidating to read the posts of the "heavy weights" in education; I'm a media specialist in a small city trying to help other teachers "get on board" the tech learning train; getting my MA in ed tech has been an eye-opener for me on all that is available (mostly free), just need to know where to look; thanks to you and those on your blogroll that keep sharing with the rest of us - really appreciate it!

Frank, thank you for the excellent KIS reminder! Youi sparked a thought to always keep in mind that many of us tend to forget as we work in the global learning community. I too will ise it with attribution as a way to keep my mind in a KIS focus.

I'm going to be watching for those videos and I'm a lot of nonthings, also!

I'm especially touched by the story of your youth. I have to wonder what that must have been like for your foster parents. Although they did something wrong, they obviously had loved you for 7 years and it must have been devastating to lose you. Your story would make an interesting book in perspectives.
